WHO WE ARE?

Highbury Congregational Church is a gathering of those who have faith in God and declare ‘Jesus Christ is Lord’. At our Church Meetings we pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help us to understand how to follow Jesus. We are committed to a life of regular Bible reading, prayer, and worship together. We follow Jesus’ command to baptise, and to break bread and drink the cup at the Lord’s Table.
Every member is part of the Church Meeting. The Church Meeting elects Deacons as acting trustees of the charity. The Deacons work alongside the Minister, Church Secretary, and Treasurer to manage the day to day running of the Church.
The Deacons interview and recommend Ministry Leaders to be appointed by the Church Meeting to look after the spiritual health of the congregation.

We have Ministry Leaders responsible for Worship, Pastoral Care, Discipleship and Outreach, Children and Youth Ministry.
The Church Office is managed by a team of volunteers. It is important that our Church buildings are available to community groups.
